and I'm gonna be hosting our Wednesday evening conversations

over the next couple of months and introducing our guests,

let me tell you a little bit about where we're coming from

to get some context to what we're gonna be talking about.

These are all kinds of official statements,

but these kind of give you the pictures about what Revs Program is.

We want it to be something, a little bit different, something new

over the last 150 years or so.

So the Revs program in Standard 2011, we just launched last year,

we want to connect stuff in a way expressed up here in the slide.

 

我们的重点特别放在人们所经历的

We're focused particularly on the human experience of automobilia

 

各种层面的汽车收藏品发展

in every sense.

 

涉及人工制品 工程等

Yes the artifact, yes the engineering

 

但从人类的角度看待汽车发展尤其重要

but particularly the human side to the automobile

 

认真看待这个方面意味着我们打算

and taking that seriously means we are aiming,

 

不 是我们将要倾向于围绕多学科来讨论

no, we are gonna be all encompassing trends disciplinary

 

并且涉及到学术界之外的机构

and pulling in agencies, interests,

 

利益和组织

organizations outside the academy,

 

因为我们了解的绝对是我们一起经历了

because something we all know is definitely with us happening

 

大约十年并还在加速发展的

has been for a decade or so and is accelerating.

And that is one way of putting is that we are at the end of the era

of the internal combustion engine

with all the implications of that in terms of industry,
