And my goal today is to try to give you a sense of what kind of course this is going to be

With that aim in mind, there are three things I want to do in today's lecture.

So the course has this perplexing cross-listed title.

It's called Philosophy and the Science of Human Nature, and

it's listed both in Philosophy and in Cognitive Science, and

it's a course for which you can get credit in the Psychology major.
